Jamaica Plain
Fondly known to many as JP, Jamaica Plain is a neighborhood of about 4.4 square miles. It is one of Boston’s “greenest” neighborhoods with its famous Emerald Necklace park system designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead.
Public transportation can be found through Jamaica Plain, mostly in the form of bus lines; however, the Green “T” Line and Commuter Rail do have stops within the neighborhood as well.
Jamaica Plain’s architecture varies greatly, and one can find just about any style of living desired. Triple-deckers and large Victorians are found throughout the neighborhood, and more recently, some of Jamaica Plain’s former brewery buildings have been converted into luxury loft condominiums.
