Waterfront
Situated along the Boston Harbor waterfront, this is one of Boston’s most-desired neighborhoods for those looking for a home with a view. Since the finish of the Big Dig, the Waterfront has been opened up to the rest of the city. Residents can quickly access the Financial District and other neighborhoods simply by walking across the newly constructed Rose Kennedy Greenway, a series of lovely parks in place of the previous double-decker highway.
The Waterfront consists mainly of historic wharfs previously used for manufacturing and storage in Boston’s active shipping industry. When these became vacant, most were converted into luxury condominiums and town homes. Many still have high ceilings, original wide-pine floors, and brick and beam construction, resulting in a loft-like feel.
Prices vary widely on the Waterfront, so no matter your budget, there is a good change you will find something perfect!
