Watertown
Watertown is one of Boston’s most affordable, yet convenient, suburbs. People from all walks of life call Watertown home because of its quick access to the Massachusetts Turnpike and easy-to-use public bus system. The neighborhood is only a 10-minute drive from downtown Boston and 5 to 7 minutes to Route 128.
Surrounded by some of Boston’s wealthiest suburbs of Belmont, Cambridge, and Newton, Watertown is considered by some to be the next “it” town. Large-scale, luxury condo projects are underway along the Charles River on Pleasant Street, and these have been attracting both young professionals and empty-nesters. Many families also consider Watertown with its affordable, single-family style homes.
In Watertown Square one can find many fine restaurants and shops. Residents can also head down Mt. Auburn Street and arrive at Harvard Square within a few minutes. For convenience, Watertown has two malls which include the popular retailers Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, Filenes Basement, and Marshals.
