A few questions with Zack:
What brought you to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Warren Residential?
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Warren Residential has an amazing marketing and web presence. I loved the combination of the small brokerage feel, while being backed by the largest residential real estate brand in the country. As I entered the real estate industry, I was looking for a mentor who would point me in the right direction, be a sounding board, and be accessible. Nick Warren is all of those things and more, and he truly cares about helping his agents achieve their business goals
You recently were recognized as one of the top performers for the company for last year as well as numerous monthly sales awards in 2020. What do you attribute this success to?
I attribute this year’s success to always putting my clients first, the support of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Warren Residential team, and investing in my business. I invest heavily in marketing and technology that helps my clients showcase their properties and find the latest properties as soon as (and even before) they hit the market. I also feel that my professional background in negotiation has helped numerous clients win bidding wars in the hot suburbs, and get fantastic deals in the more balanced city market.
What do you think is the biggest challenge to people looking to buy or sell their home in the current environment?
In the Boston area we have two distinct markets, and the challenges of each are different. The single family home market, particularly in the suburbs, is incredibly competitive at the moment. Strategy, negotiating skills, and market relationships are integral to getting offers accepted in this environment. On the other hand, the city is a more balanced market. This is the first time in years we’re seeing buyers get deals under asking price. My clients have seized the opportunity to invest in Boston before the city shifts back to a sellers’ market.
Outside of the office, where can one find you?
My favorite things to do around Boston are trying out new restaurants and going to concerts. In pre-COVID times, you could often find me at shows at The Middle East (Central Sq, Cambridge) and The Paradise (Allston).
What is your favorite neighborhood to explore?
My favorite neighborhoods are South Boston and the South End. I’ve been a homeowner in South Boston for 7 years, and I’ve seen the neighborhood develop around me. I’ve loved seeing the restaurant scene grow there. Fox & the Knife, recently named Boston’s Best New Restaurant, has been a welcome addition to the area. I also love the South End for its quintessential Boston feel (the brownstones and tree-lined streets) and it’s home to many of Boston’s top restaurants.
Current favorite place to grab a bite to eat?
Some of my favorite restaurants are: Lolita (Tacos & Margaritas ; Fort Point), Ocean Prime (Steak & Seafood ; Seaport), and The Smoke Shop (BBQ ; Fort Point).
