We can’t believe that 2022 is coming to a close but are so thrilled about welcoming a new year! This month, Nick talks about some of his favorite things to do in Boston in the winter months and also how sellers can best prepare their homes for sale if they want to hit the spring market!
What are some of your favorite winter activities around Boston?
There are so many fun and interesting activities around Boston in the winter months. These are some of my favorites to enjoy with my family:
- Ice Skating at the Frog Pond: Located in Boston Common, the Frog Pond is a popular spot for ice skating during the winter months. Imagine hosting a holiday party and inviting guests to enjoy the magic of ice skating in the heart of the city.
- Visit the Christmas tree at the Boston Common: The Christmas tree at the Boston Common is a beloved tradition. Each year, a towering tree is erected in the park and decorated with lights and ornaments. Imagine waking up on Christmas morning to see this beautiful tree outside your window. Check it out before it comes down for the year!
- See a Holiday Performance: The holiday season is a popular time for performances in Boston. Catch a show at one of the city's many theaters, from the Boston Ballet's Nutcracker to A Christmas Carol at the American Repertory Theater to Cirque Du Soleil’s ‘Twas the Night Before at the Wang Theater (I just saw this last night and it was amazing!). There are still some chances to see some of these fun shows!
In addition to these activities, countless other events and festivities are happening in Boston during the holiday season.
If sellers are looking to sell their home in the spring market, what can they start doing to prepare?
If you're a seller looking to list your home in the spring market, there are a few steps you can take to start preparing now.
- Make any necessary repairs or updates: Take care of any maintenance tasks or repairs that need to be done before you put your home on the market. This could include things like fixing leaky faucets, painting, or updating fixtures.
- Declutter and depersonalize: Remove any personal items or clutter from your home to make it more appealing to potential buyers. This will help them envision themselves living in the space.
- Stage your home: Consider hiring a professional stager or doing some DIY staging to make your home look as attractive as possible to buyers. This could include rearranging furniture, adding or removing decor, and ensuring everything is clean and organized.
- Gather necessary documents: Have your mortgage documents, homeowners insurance, and any other relevant paperwork ready for potential buyers or their agents to review.
- Research the market: Familiarize yourself with the current real estate market in your area and consider getting one of our agents to put together a comparative market analysis to help you determine the best price for your home.
By taking these steps, you'll be well-prepared to sell your Boston area home in the spring market and increase your chances of finding a buyer quickly.
