What are your favorite winter activities in and around Boston?

Winter in Boston is one of my favorite seasons. Whether you want to brave the cold for some outdoor fun or seek the warmth of indoor festivities, our city has plenty of options to fill your days with winter wonder. Here are some of the best ways to enjoy Boston during the winter.

Snowport 2023: A Seaport Winter Wonderland

This is one of my favorite Boston winter/holiday activities. Snowport 2023 transforms the Seaport District into a winter wonderland. This holiday shopping destination combines shopping, tree lighting, and curling. It is open daily until December 31 and offers iceless curling and winter games until February 26.

Gliding Grace: Ice Skating at Frog Pond

A beloved Boston winter tradition, ice skating at Frog Pond in the Boston Common is a must. Glide through the crisp air, taking in the magical atmosphere created by the city lights.

SoWa Winter Festival: A South End Celebration

The SoWa Winter Festival takes place over four weekends from November 24 to December 18. This South End festival features over 100 local vendors, treats by firepits, and a sparkling winter atmosphere.

The Nutcracker at the Boston Opera House

Get into the holiday spirit by attending a Nutcracker performance at the Boston Opera House. This classic ballet brings to life a magical world that is suitable for audiences of all ages.

Boston Pops Holiday Performances

The Boston Pops Orchestra presents its renowned Holiday Pops concerts, which feature a mix of traditional carols and holiday favorites. On weekends, kid-friendly matinees are available, making it a fun experience for the whole family. Dates for matinées include December 2, 9, 10, 16, and 17.

Four Seasons One Dalton's Chocolate Bar

The lobby of the Four Seasons One Dalton is transformed into a winter wonderland with a whimsical chocolate bar from November 27, 2023 to January 1, 2024. A variety of chocolate creations, colorful bonbons, cookies, and a luxurious hot chocolate and coffee bar are available.
