Think Smarter with Nick

With everything going on with the coronavirus, there have been a lot of changes in the Boston real estate market. Nick outlines some of the things buyers and sellers can expect right now as well as what BHHS Warren Residential is doing during this time to help our clients. He also gives a couple of suggestions on things people can do at home to enjoy the Boston community they love.

Although it is evolving often, what are some of the things buyers and sellers need to know about the coronavirus impact on Boston real estate?

This is the question that our clients are asking us most often but is probably one of the hardest to actually answer.  As of today, we are still seeing transactions happen but the volume is significantly down compared to this time last year.  Most people who don’t need to sell or buy right now have pressed the pause button until we are able to get a clearer understanding of when things might begin to get back to normal.

What precautions and changes has BHHS Warren Residential made during this time?

We are following all of the recommended guidelines provided by the CDC and have closed our physical office since March 16th.  Even though the state of Massachusetts has deemed real estate an essential business, we have chosen to keep our offices closed and continue to work remotely.  Our agents have access to our in-house Matterport camera which allows them to take 3D scans of all their listings and show them virtually prior to any in-person showings which significantly limits potential exposure for them and their clients.  We’ve also launched an online portal where clients can send deposit funds electronically rather than using paper checks to create one less point of physical contact.

What are some things Bostonians can do from home to experience some of their favorite things in the city?

One of the things that I’ve always loved about Boston is the easy access to fantastic parks and outdoor spaces which provide a bit of respite from being stuck inside all day.  Of course, you need to remember to continue practicing social distancing, even when outside!
