Jamaica Plain is a neighborhood located in the southern part of the City of Boston, Massachusetts.
Downtown Boston is about a 25 minute drive from Jamaica Plains, around 5.5 road miles. Downtown is also easily accessible via public transportation - around a 30 minute trip on the “T” Orange Line.
Jamaica Plain has great public transport links. Along with the Orange Line, there’s also the Green Line, several bus lines and Commuter Rail stops within the neighborhood.
In addition to its transport links, Jamaica Plain is a popular place to live thanks to its diverse, tight-knit neighborhood and its peaceful green spaces. Trails loop around Jamaica Pond and through the vast Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, both links in the Emerald Necklace chain of parks.
