West Roxbury is a lovely neighborhood located in the southwest corner of the City of Boston.
Downtown Boston is about a 10 mile drive via VFW Parkway, and about a 40 minute trip using public transport on the Needham Line. West Roxbury is bordered by other popular Boston neighborhoods, such as Roslindale, Hyde Park and Brookline.
West Roxbury’s main commercial section runs along Centre Street, which is full of popular restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, as well as a variety of shops and boutiques.
The neighborhood is known for its civic activism and youth programs. It’s also home to Roxbury Latin High School, which was founded in 1645 and is the oldest continuously running school in North America.
