Boston’s West End neighborhood was once the most densely populated area of the city.
From the mid-1800s to the mid-20thcentury, the neighborhood was considered a “slum” by the wealthy, and in the 1950s, the original neighborhood (which was more residential than today’s) was completely leveled to make way for “urban renewal.”
Today, the redeveloped West End is dominated by high-rises and Massachusetts General Hospital. The area is also served by North Station, a major transportation hub for Amtrak, Commuter Rail and two subway lines.
Most of the residential West End real estate is found in one complex called Charles River Park. This consists of 42 acres of both rental and condominium mid-and high-rises.
Also in Charles River Park are some of the most affordable buildings in the city. At Warren Residential, we’re experts in West End real estate, and can help you find your dream Boston home for sale - get in touch with one of our experienced agents today!
Living in Boston’s West End gives you access to all of the best parts of the city!
The West End is home to the renowned TD Garden, New England’s largest sports and entertainment arena. “The Garden” is home to both the Boston Bruins (NHL) and the Boston Celtics (NBA), and also regularly hosts concerts.
Thanks to TD Garden, the area has a great supply of sports bars, cheap pizzerias and pubs - that almost always have a pretty lively atmosphere.
Nearby, the Museum of Science has interactive exhibits and a planetarium that guarantees a fun family day out. Another place worth visiting is the West End Museum, which highlights the area’s former immigrant communities that lived here previous to the urban renewal project.
Located along the Charles River, you’ll findTeddy Ebersol’s Red Sox Fields - a great place to join a softball league with your friends.
And, of course, with great public transit links, living in Boston’s West End makes it easy to get around the city. This means you’re only ever minutes away from a trip to Fenway Park, relaxing at Harpoon Brewery or strolling along the freedom trail.
